Interpreting much more than just one story of a local baseball team, the St. Paul Saints launched the City of Baseball Museum. Located in the team’s new stadium, the exhibits explore the historical connections between the Saints and the city of St. Paul, from neighborhood prodigies, Hall of Fame players to African American baseball leagues.
Committed to going beyond players and stats, the City of Baseball Museum challenges common assumptions about the history of baseball—and team museums. Through individual stories, one-of-a-kind artifacts, and even a larger-than-life St. Paul map, visitors find themselves immersed in the team’s history and its impact on and off the field.
With a constantly growing baseball artifact collection, it was important that the exhibits at the City of Baseball Museum could adapt to include new stories over time. By incorporating removable cases and graphics we ensured that the exhibits could handle updates and additions while retaining a cohesive look and feel.

With a stakeholder team ranging from team owners to local historians, creating and launching the Saints exhibits required some inside baseball. Coordinating both owned and loaned artifact collections, our team balanced big-picture objectives with day-to-day details, successfully taking the project from kickstart to completion in just 11 months.
